Work History

Internship

States of Jersey
07.2023 - 08.2023
  • Provided me with invaluable experience on how a large office runs and how different departments can interact, as I often had to contact different areas of Government for their departmental information.
  • Enhanced intern productivity by assisting with project coordination and providing ongoing support.
  • Supported staff members in their daily tasks, reducing workload burden and allowing for increased focus on higher-priority assignments.

Waiter

Watersplash Beach Bar and Diner
08.2019 - 09.2022
  • Developed my teamwork skills, as strong communication is critically important when working in a fast-paced environment.
  • My skill development and strong work ethic helped me to earn the trust of my supervisor, who then put me in charge of an external trailer that was being trialed as a way to reduce the workload on the main kitchen. Here, unsupervised by a line manager, I gained greater independence and time-management skills

Co Curricular Achievements

  • 2020 - 2021, Lamda Grade 8 Examination: helped to improve my confidence in communication and public speaking.
  • 2020 - 2021, Mind Of Your Own - Charity Work: Charity was founded to raise awareness about mental health problems that could occur, particularly in young people. Through this I better learnt how to raise awareness of important topics and communicate with different organisations.
  • 2020 - Digital Jersey Leadership Programme: A 6 week enterprise task in a team to create and present an easier way to stay connected during the Coronavirus pandemic. This taught me how to work remotely as a team and gave me strong interpersonal skills, which is essential when working in a business.
  • 2019 - 2020, Extended Project Qualification: The task of writing a 5000-word essay, with 26 references, allowed me to further develop my independent work skills, as I had to undertake constant, self-guided research throughout the year to perform to the best of my abilities.
  • 2019 - 2020, Young Enterprise: Our group established a company called Azul Jersey, where I was the Director of Administration, allowing me to liaise across different branches of the company and develop my interpersonal and organisational skills, which eventually earned us the Best Administration award for that year.
